The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) is looking for a total of

 

10 PhD Candidates (f/m/d) for Challenges in Infection Research at the HZI

 

(various locations across Germany)

We invite applicants to undertake their PhD project at one of the five locations of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI). HZI is Germany’s largest academic institution dedicated to infection research and a member of the Helmholtz Association. For 60 years, HZI has been at the forefront of the fight against infectious diseases. We welcome a broad spectrum of disciplines, believing in thinking outside the box, to address the most pressing challenges in infection research. Eligibility criteria:

Applicants should meet the following requirements: A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in biomedical sciences e.g., Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Physics, Pharmacy etc. and an ambitious and innovative mindset as well as excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and a willingness to work in an intercultural team.

 

We offer:

A funded PhD position under the German federal pay scale (equivalent E13 TVöD Bund, 65%), including health insurance, pension, and 30 days of paid vacation, providing a secure income sufficient for living in Germany with full social benefits. Contract Duration: 3 years initially

Salary: equivalent E 13 (65%)
